Lake Como
Lake Como is famed for its precious silks from the ancient captial town of Como, lavish villas with sumptuous gardens such as Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta, and spectacular panoramas from fabled villages like Bellagio and Varenna.
-
Gardens of Isola Madre
This is the largest of the Borromeo Islands and it is also the most characteristic due to its collected, tranquil, and enchanted atmosphere. Its gardens, where all manner of peacocks, parrots and pheasants roam freely, are full of rare plants and exotic flowers, helping to create the charm of a tropical land.
-
Swimming
Swim on Lake Maggiore with the beautiful scenery surrounding you as you paddle. Enjoy the luscious mountains.
-
Val Grand
The largest wilderness area in Italy, but also an outdoor museum of the ancient civilization of the Alps. The abandonment of the alpine summer pastures and of the deforestation practice led to the return to wilderness: nature becomes the master.
-
Scaligero Castle, Malcesine, Lake Garda
Whether arriving by land or by lake the castle immediately catches your eye. Sturdy yet dreamlike, with its 30m high pentagonal tower it dominates all of Malcesine and the surrounding area. It’s background is served by the chromatic blue of the Lake Garda and green of the Monte Baldo mountains.
-
Windsurfing Lake Garda
If you’re a windsurfing enthusiast then Lake Garda is a great spot for you. The favourable wind conditions are caused by the funnel effect of the mountain valleys, and the difference in temperature between the higher altitudes of the surrounding mountains and the lake valley.

Skiing
Lake Maggiore is known for it's wonderful skiing facility. People come from all over the world to ski here. In 2006, the Torino Winter Olympics were held here.
