Sölden is one of the best ski resort in Austria and regularly hosts the first World Cup races of the season, usually in late October on the Rettenbach glacier. Sölden has 2,000 m / 6,600 ft vertical drop, 3,250 m (10,660 ft) top elevation, 36 lifts and 150 km (90 mi) of trails, plus excellent off-piste options.

During the winter the glacier is accessible by cable car from Solden and from spring time by car, when it offers summer skiing. Summer training grounds of the US Ski Team, and many other pros.

The Area 47 Snowpark is located at Giggijoch, right below the two chair lifts - Hainbachkar and Silberbrünnl. Riders can choose from a wide range of adventurous snow elements and jibs. In the Gaislachkogl area expert freeriders find an array of steep and long downhill routes.

The area has numerous cross-country skiing trails from 1 to 50 km long.

In summer mountain biking is the major attraction in the area. There are numerous trails for any level of experience.

A thermal spa right amidst the Ötztal mountains. Healing thermal waters coming from deep inside the Earth. Breathtaking vistas of awe-inspiring peaks. Only 13 km/13 min down the valley from Solden.

The Ötztal Glacier Road, at 2,830 m, is the second highest paved road in Europe. It is the access road from Sölden to the Rettenbach glacier and Tiefenbachferner glaciers in the Ötztal Alps.
