The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an oceanfront amusement park in Santa Cruz, California. Founded in 1907, it is California's oldest surviving amusement park and one of the few seaside parks on the West Coast of the United States.

Natural Bridges State Beach features a natural bridge across a section of the beach. It is also well known as a hotspot to see monarch butterfly migrations.

17-Mile Drive is a scenic road through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula, much of which hugs the Pacific coastline and passes famous golf courses, mansions and scenic attractions, including the Lone Cypress, Bird Rock and Del Monte Forest of Monterey Cypress trees. Dotting the drive are rare Monterey cypress, trees so gnarled and twisted that Robert Louis Stevenson described them as "ghosts fleeing before the wind."

The iconic Point Lobos is famous for its rugged coastal cliffs, seal and sea lion colonies and unparalleled scuba diving spot. Called the "greatest meeting of land and water in the world", Point Lobos is considered a crown jewel in the California state park system. The park contains a number of hiking trails, many next to the ocean, and a smaller number of beaches.

Carmel is a charming seaside resort village known for its natural scenery and rich artistic history. Good restaurants, boutiques, galleries, small hotels, and a beach with exceptionally fine white sand. (The water is cold, however)

The Santa Cruz Wharf is a busy tourist trap in Santa Cruz known for fishing, boat tours, viewing sea lions, dining, and gift shops.

Steamer Lane is a famous surfing location in Santa Cruz. It is just off a point on the side of cliffs in the West Cliff residential area near downtown Santa Cruz, providing easy access and a good vantage point for viewing. (See a fantastic aerial footage, from a quadrocopter.)

Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful courses in the world, Pebble Beach hugs the rugged coastline and has wide open views of Carmel Bay, opening to the Pacific Ocean, on the south side of the Monterey Peninsula. In 2001 it became the first public course to be selected as the No.1 Golf Course in America. The PGA Tour and Champions Tour play annual events at Pebble Beach. It has hosted six men's major championships: five U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship.
