• Provincetown
  

  
  Provincetown is at the very tip of the peninsular Cape Cod region. Provincetown has attracted artists of all types over the years. One of the oldest artist colonies in America, it has produced a large number of excellent galleries, cutting edge theatre and many unique shops. It also has an intriguing history as the first landing site of the Pilgrims and the place where the Mayflower Compact was signed. Fishing and whaling have also been a huge part of Provincetown's past. It is also blessed with pristine beaches and dunes on the Atlantic side. Race Point Beach has often made the lists of top beaches in America. It is also one of the few spots on the east coast where one can watch the sun set into the water.
  
  

• Cape Cod Museum of Art
  

  
  Cape Cod Museum of Art is located in Dennis. It preserves and displays the art of Cape Cod artists. Dennis itself bills as the "Cultural Center of Cape Cod", and rightly so. Alongside with the Cape Cod Museum of Art it boasts the Cape Playhouse, and some really excellent art and craft galleries.
  
  

• Whale Watching
  

  
  Whale Watching is one of the prime attractions in Cape Cod. There are numerous excursions from Barnstable, Provincetown and other places.
  
  

• Dinner Train
  

  
  Cape Cod Central Railroad Dinner Train operates from June to October from the village of Hyannis. Scenic train runs scenic trips between Hyannis and the Cape Cod Canal daily.
  
  

• Cape Cod National Seashore
  

  
  These 43,608 acres (176.5 km²) includes six excellent swimming beaches, pristine dunes, dramatic cliffs, crystal clear freshwater "kettle ponds" and eleven self-guided nature trails. The National Park Service maintains several overlooks and ranger stations. Rangers conduct educational programs for all ages.
  
  

• The Bass River
  

  
  The Bass River is the longest all salt water river on the East Coast and nearly bisects Cape Cod. This Yarmouth and Dennis landmark is beautiful in its own right and has great spots for boating, kayaking, fishing and watersports.
  
  

• Theatres
  

  
  Cape Cod has a large number of theatres, one in nearly every town, as well as a number of festivals including the Provincetown Fringe Festival and Eventide Arts Festival.
  
  

• Light houses
  

  
  There are plenty of light houses in Cape Cod, many of them are very scenic. These include Nobska, Sandy Neck, Lewis Bay, Naucet and others.
