The Berlin Wall was a barrier constructed by the German Democratic Republic starting on 13 August 1961, that completely cut off West Berlin from surrounding East Germany and from East Berlin.

The Brandenburg Gate is a former city gate, rebuilt in the late 18th century as a neoclassical triumphal arch, and now one of the most well-known landmarks of Germany.

The Reichstag building is a historical edifice constructed to house the Imperial Diet of the German Empire. It was opened in 1894 and housed the Diet until 1933, when it was severely damaged in a fire. After World War II, the building fell into disuse. It underwent a reconstruction in 1999, it once again became the meeting place of the German parliament: the modern Bundestag. The current Reichstag dome is a glass dome designed by architect Norman Foster and built to symbolize the reunification of Germany.

The Fernsehturm is a television tower in central Berlin. Close to Alexanderplatz in Mitte, the tower was constructed in 1969 by the administration of the German Democratic Republic. With its height of 368 meters, it is the tallest structure in Germany.

Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) is the biggest and most impressive church in Berlin, built in 1905 as an expression of imperial power. You can climb on top of the dome for a beautiful view over the Berlin center.
