Scattered over 500 km² of an arid plateau between the Nazca River and Ingenio River, they are huge representations of geometric patterns, animals, humans figures and thousands of perfectly straight lines that go on for kilometers. They were created by removing surface stones, revealing the lighter-colored soil below. They're unquestionably ancient (dating back 1400-2200 years), and remarkably precise (with straight lines and clean curves).

The vast Reserva Nacional de Paracas is a desert reserve that occupies most of the Península de Paracas. It has grand views of the ocean, with a sea-lion colony on the rocks below and plenty of seabirds gliding by.

The Ballestas Islands are located roughly 15km off the coast of southern Peru. These islands are home to various fauna like the guanay guano bird, the blue-footed booby, the tendril, the Humboldt Penguin and two varieties of seals (fur seals and sea lions).

This beach is a main spot fur surfers. It has very cold water and waves all the year. Kite-surfing is also popular.

Experience the magic of the desert at the amazing dunes of the Peruvian Coast. Adventure dune buggy tour takes place at the great desert known by locals as California located a few kilometers away from the Paracas Reserve.
