Mount Everest, at 8,848 m (29,029 ft), is the Earth's highest mountain. Everest yields only to highly experienced mountaineers. "Normal" people can trek to Base Camp at 5,380 m (17,700 ft), which usually takes 6 to 8 days. Expeditions usually first fly into Lukla (2,860 m).

How to get there
By plane to Kathmandu, then by car/bus and trekking. From Kathmandu, you can also fly into small local airports, depending what part of the country you go to.
