The Teatro Colón is the main opera house in Buenos Aires, Argentina, acoustically considered to be amongst the five best concert venues in the world. The present Colón replaced an original theatre which opened in 1857.

La Casa Rosada is the executive mansion and office of the President of Argentina. The palatial mansion is known officially as Casa de Gobierno, which means "House of Government" or "Government House" in English language.

Blend in with the hippest people in the city at the Niceto Club, undoubtedly one of the city's trendsetting nightspots. Traditional South American styles and rhythms mix with electronica, driving the crowd absolutely wild. Another good choice is Wednesday's underground party Zizek, one of the best nights in town.

Tango was born in Argentina and thrives today, partly to cater to tourists and partly because it is still beloved by the locals. You can pick your own level of involvement with this enchanting dance from taking tango classes, to dancing tango in a milonga, to watching a full-blown tango show production.

The fair is held in the barrio of Mataderos and celebrates all things gaucho, the traditional Argentine cowboy. With more than 300 stalls a visitor can easily find any piece of gaucho paraphernalia they desire such as mate gourds, dulce de leche, crafts, artisan cheese, bread, salami and hams.

Whilst Argentina is not renowned for its beaches -- the water is clear but lukewarm -- holidaying on the Atlantic Coast of Buenos Aires Province is probably the most popular option for Argentines.
