Table Mountain
Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town. A National Park covers most of it. One can hike up and around, for a great view of the city and the ocean, or take a ride in a cable car.

Cape of Good Hope
Legendary Cape of Good Hope is the southwesternmost point of Africa, where Indiana and Atlantic oceans meet. Right next to it is Cape Point, a dramatic knife's edge of rock that slices into the ocean. Looking out to sea from the viewing platform, you feel you're at the tip of Africa. The views of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountains are astonishing.

Two Oceans Aquarium
The Two Oceans Aquarium at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is considered one of the finest in the world. It's a hands-on place, with a touch pool for children and opportunities for certified divers to explore the vast, five-story kelp forest or the predator tank, where you share the water with a couple of large ragged-tooth sharks. If you don't fancy getting wet, you can still watch the feeding in the predator tank every day at 3 pm.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden
Spectacular in each season, these world-famous gardens showcase stunning South African flora in a magnificent setting, extending up the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and overlooking the sprawling city and the distant Hottentots Holland Mountains. No wonder the gardens are photographed from every angle.

Boulders Beach penguins
Boulders Beach is best known for its resident colony of African penguins. You must stay out of the fenced-off breeding beach, but don't be surprised if a wandering bird comes waddling up to you to take a look. Penguin-viewing platforms provide close-up looks at these comical birds. When you've had enough penguin peering, you can stroll back to Boulders Beach for some excellent swimming in the quiet coves.

Stellenbosch -- Cape Wineland
The Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek valleys, about 40 mi east of Cape Town, form the Cape Winelands, a region where most of the South Africa's wines are produced. The Stellenbosch Wine Route is a world renowned and popular tourist destination.
